The American Teenager

It was a realization that came to me while struggling to picture the American Teenager: although I am a teenager, and although I live in America, I do not think of myself as an American Teenager. The American Teenager is the stereotype that all real teenagers hate. Because of that, the Teenager takes on many forms. For instance, maybe for you the Teenager is a popular, snotty girl at school. Maybe the Teenager takes the form of a complete rebel who disobeys all rules and gets into all kinds of bad stuff. For me personally, the Teenager is simply a teenager without pride. The definition of the American Teenager changes for everyone as they get older and as their life changes.
